While driving home from the Labor Day family fun (more on that later), I used the term "po po." Skeeter claimed he had never heard that before. Never, ever in his whole entire life. And accused me of making it up (and my sister, since I, of course, dragged her use of it into the fray).
I maintain that it's a common term.
So, you friends from everywhere, which one of us is right?
(Well, I know which one of us is right, but whose side do you take?)

Hmm, if you're talking about police, then yes, you're right. If it means something else, I'd have to side with Skeeter. Sorry. :-)
I've never used it. I had to look it up on Urban Dictionary.com. But hey, I live in a small town.

Yes, this is a very common term for the police; in fact, it has been used in serveral movies/shows.
For instance, it was said on an episode of Hannah Montana: "Watch out Grandma, I got the po po on my tail!"
Also said by Madea in the Diary of a Mad Black Woman: "I aint scared a no po po. Call da po po hoe... Call da po po hoe."
Ummm, I'm with you but maybe not for the right reason. I had no idea it meant referring to the police. I've heard it and used it but I've always used to in the vein of "Oh po po they were out of my ice cream" or "Po po you made a huge mess, Morgan" Perhaps I'm not using the term correctly?
