Reading for Spyder

That boy is such a good reader that I have to preview many of his books. Just because he CAN read something doesn't necessarily mean that he SHOULD. Luckily, he's working on Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys at the moment, which don't really require review.

I'm always on the search for books for him though, just to be prepared. Yesterday, I read Anthony Horowitz's Stormbreaker, the first of the Alex Rider series. Excellent!! I can't wait to start the second one, but I'll wait until I'm finished with The Last Cato since it's getting good! :o)

Stormbreaker is currently being made into a movie as well. Only a pseudo-teaser trailer is out so far though.

Spyder reminds me of Meggie in Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. Think thats her name. Anyhow, its supposed to be for kids, kind of like Harry Potter but, parent beware, there's alot of cursing in it for a kid, kind of like Anger cursing. Anyway, I just finished it and I really liked it. I also like Artemis Fowl though, and I know you said you couldn't sympathize with him, but Inkheart reminds me-SOMEHOW of you. I guess its all the reading in it:)
