For the voters

Several companies are giving away freebies to those who get out and vote today! Wear your "I Voted" sticker and get your treats!

Free Starbucks coffee, tall.

Free Krispy Kreme star shaped doughnut with sprinkles.

Free Ben & Jerry's ice cream cone (5-8 pm)

And yes, you could probably score the freebies if you don't actually vote. But let's keep it honest, 'kay?

I don't have a sticker because I voted absentee. I have my voter stub, though!

They didn't give me a sticker. The place was hoppin' with people and the nearest worker was helping someone get started on a paper ballot.

I thought about asking for one, but I never really got into wearing them, so I let it go. Big mistake, I see.

Oh well. We are going to an election party tonight, so there should be a lot of goodies there. Though, the best goodies will be any commentary that does not contain any of those awful Dan Ratherisms of 2004.

I can only conclude that voting in the US is hell on the thighs.

As it turned out, giving out freebies for voting was seen as bribery, so places gave out free goodies regardless. Fortunately, the cupcakes were "baby cakes."
